61 miles later. Minot, North Dakota. Here we picked up the Minot Daily News, which featured articles on an outbreak of prevent plant disease, a local production of a Shakespearean play, and legislative actions on the flooding that has plagued the farmers of North Dakota. Sleeping-car passengers get a morning paper, either a local one or the USA TODAY. Incidentally, the Minneapolis edition has the fourth lowest daily circulation of the TODAY's twenty-five US markets. We really are heading into the wide open prairie.
I found the sleeper attendant for the car I was moving to, and was told that he'd switched boarding passengers around so that I'd have a room by East Glacier Park.
